Description
My job requires me to travel... a lot! In fact, you could say that travelling is my job. Working in the airline industry for almost 25 years with more than 15.000 hours in the air, I've been able to discover the world and its beauty. Since 2015, I've been combining it with my passion, photography.
When I look at my passion, it's also a journey in itself. From where I started to where I am now. Discovering new territories, improving my skills with the camera, but also with the post-processing. A never-ending journey that gives me a lot of pleasure! Through my work I'm able to visit and photograph beautiful places on our planet. I feel privileged to have the perfect combination of work and hobby!
For this image, my work took me to Toronto Ontario (Canada), a city I really like. First of all because of the people who live here. I find them very friendly and helpful. Second, because of the great architecture in downtown Toronto. Especially in the financial district you can find interesting skyscrapers and compositions.
Packed with my equipment, I went downtown. I often tell people as they walk down the street: look back or look up and be surprised! Especially in a city centre where the skyscrapers are close together. Looking up, my eyes fell on these 2 blocks. It was a clear day, the sun was shining and there was a nice reflection in the middle where the 2 blocks met. I knew it could make an interesting composition.
At home I edit 99% of my images because I use a big screen, a fast desktop and a Wacom tablet to have more precise control and get the most out of my images and turn them into wall art that would look great on your wall. By darkening the image a bit and taking out the colour, this image really came to life, don't you think?
